Keeping Away From The Boyfriend 15


The holidays may be taking its toll on your diet, but that is minuscule compared to what having a boyfriend does. You date a little more, eat a little more, drink a little, and go to the gym a lot less. As the feelings of euphoria pass, you begin to realize your clothes are a little snug. Before you know it, 15 jigglies appear out of thin air and magically onto your thighs and midriff. Damned wanting a boyfriend and damned having a boyfriend.

Here is a list of what I do to attempt to keep the weight off and avoid the Boyfriend 15!

  1. We only have so many hours in a day. When we date someone, we want to spend a lot of time with them and end up neglecting our gym memberships. If we have to choose between going on a date and sweating it out at the gym – we often choose the date – ta da, 15 pounds. Why not marry the two? Have a gym date. Spend time together staying fit. It helps you build a common bond and develop common interest/hobby. I always say, a couple who grow together is more likely to work out in the long run.
  2. Join a unisex sports team together. Look for unisex softball, soccer, kickboxing, etc. teams in your city and join them. It’s social, establishes the two of you as a “couple” and it’s a lot of fun. You can even train for a marathon together.
  3. When dining out, cut your portions. Instead of having an appetizer, a main and a dessert each, consider having one appetizer each and share a main, side and dessert. Not recommended for a first date but once you have established your coupledom, this is definitely a cost and calorie saving alternative.
  4. Stay in and cook. Cooking in itself is very soothing. Cooking together is soothing and romantic. You choose your own ingredients so they are always fresh. You control the amount of butter, salt, sugar, and all the other fattening stuff that goes into your meal. The most important thing is you get to show off your amazing culinary skills.   5. If distance and weather permitting, walk to and from work. It’s a great way to keep active and it won’t take time away from boyfriend time.
