A Grown Up NYC Weekend – Wine Tasting and The Brooklyn Chocolate Experiment

If the International Great Beer Expo gets your heart pumping just a little more than you’d like, and you want to do something more…grown up then consider a wine tasting. Around The World in 80 Sips is a wine tasting event where enthusiasts get to taste over 80 fabulous wines from 5 different continents. The event takes place on Friday the 13th at 583 Park Avenue from 6:30pm-8:30pm.

In addition to wines from France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, California, Chile, Argentina, New Zealand, South Africa, Lebanon and yup, even China (?!), artisanal cheese, charcuterie, pickles, chocolate and cigars will be available for guests to enjoy.

So come, mingle, get responsibly tipsy, and have fun! Tickets are on sale for $60 if you purchase them before Friday at 5pm EST. Otherwise, tickets are $75 at the door.

For a list of the participating wineries and importers and to purchase tickets, visit their website.

And to top of the mature, grown-up weekend, go to the Brooklyn Chocolate Experiment on Sunday. This is a premier culinary competition where amateur chefs will compete by creating their most delicious chocolate-based dishes. The audience (you) along with a celebrity judging panel will pick their favorites, so bring your sweet tooth.

And if you think you’ve got what it takes to compete, go and enter into the competition, right here. The Chocolate Show was a tad of a disappointment this year, but hopefully this chocolate event will be better – it IS more interactive afterall.

There will also be an after party that will ensue in the front lounge with chocolate galore.

Advance tickets for the main event costs $20 and $25 at the door.  The main event takes place from 1pm – 5pm on Sunday, Nov. 15 at the Bell House in Brooklyn (149 7th St. Brooklyn). The F, R and G trains all take you there.

P.S. This event was brought to you by the same guys who brought the Brooklyn Beer Experiment and the Brooklyn Cheese Experiment.
